The perfect way to your first half marathon.
The half marathon brings together different classes of runners! It offers a challenging experience for advanced runners but especially invites beginners to take part in their first, achievable long endurance competition. For many beginners, the half marathon is a milestone on the way to their first marathon. This certainly makes sense, but it’s important not to underestimate the half marathon; as a "novice" runner, you should plan at least 16-20 weeks to develop the distance gradually and safely. Those who can already run a relaxed 10 km can aim for a well-prepared half marathon in 12 weeks.
Our half marathon training plan for beginners prepares you ideally for your first 21 km run and gently establishes you as a regular runner. Based on years of experience as a coach and sports science expertise, we developed our beginner half marathon training plan together with Raphael from the Training Institute Diagnose Berlin. Depending on your starting level, we can vary the possible training durations between 12 to 20 weeks!
